what should the temp run?

I was just wondering if anyone knew what the temp should run? My temperture hand stays about in the middle of my gage? Is this to hot?

Thanks

RE: what should the temp run?

Mine runs right in the middle. That is the "normal" range. Way over to the right is too hot, way over to the left is cold. I think thats why GM took the numbers off the face of the guage. Nobody can agree on what the ideal operating temperature is. If your car is running too hot you should get a message in the radio, "Engine Hot-A/C off" will be displayed if the coolant temp is above 243degrees F. I believe the engines are designed to run right around 200 degrees. Most cars have 195 degree thermostats. This is primarily to help the emissions. Tell us more about your car and post pictures! Welcome. Mike.
