Should I buy a Cadillac CTS As my first car??

Hey all!
I'm new to the Cadillac forums as I just joined to post this topic.

I am looking into my first car. I have around $7000 to spend in total including Taxes and licensing. I have been looking into mary vehicles but the one that really struck my eye is the 2003 Cadillac CTS. I can get it for approximately $6500 depending on if I buy it from a dealer or a private sale.

Many of my colleagues and friends have been leering me away from the CTS because the Car would have 200000+km's on it. (125000+ miles). The reason they are telling me not to purchase it is due to the maintenance I would have to pay to keep a 6 cylinder 3.2L engine that has a lot of milage on it.

Now, I ask you Cadillac Owners, what are your thoughts? Is the milage on the vehicle too much? Is an 03 CTS worth it? How much does maintenance cost you?

Fill me in with anything I need to know about owning a Caddi and as a first time vehicle owner!
