horn problem

The horn on my 03 cts stopped working out of no where. Does anyone know where to access the horn under the hood, or is there a possibility a connection got lose somewhere?

RE: horn problem

If an 03 is anything like an 05 the horn assembly is accessed from under the front of the car. Raise and support vehicle, remove lower air deflector and the horns should be right there along the drivers side frame rail. The horn relay is located in the under hood Fuse Block. Battery positive voltage is applied at all times to the horn relay coil and the horn relay switch. Pressing the horn switch applies ground to the horn relay control circuit. The BCM (body control module) may also apply ground to the horn relay control circuit through theft deterrent or lock/unlock. When horn relay control circuit is grounded, the horn relay is energized and battery positive voltage is appliesd to the horns through the horn control circuit. The horns sound as long as the ground is applied to the horn relay control circuit. You may have a blown fuse, bad switch, bad relay, bad horn or bad wiring connections. Thats alot of bads. Good luck with it. Mike.
