Engine SHAKES/Vibrates - BADLY when AC is on - Should I Run from this car?

Hey all - my wife has loved the CTS model for years (especially the black color). So as a surprise I am beginning a search for one for her.

I found one at a dealer that I have bought several cars from - and went over to take a look at a 2011 black CTS with 48k miles.

Started the car, and immediately went for the AC (90 degrees and black leather!!). When I hit the AC button, I immediately could feel the car shaking. I popped the hood and noticed the engine shaking/rocking back and forth.

Cold air DID come out of the vents.

If I revved the car over 2000 rpm, it smoothed out.

Should I RUN from this used car? Or is this something relatively simple to address that the dealer could fix before I bought it?

Also - what are the general thoughts on the 2011 model year? Any obvious known issues that I should have checked before making a deal?

A/C issue should be resolved. Maintenance records, open recalls or special policies? Warranty status. Timing chain biggest know concern. You might look into a bumper to bumper type warranty. I would take it to dealer for pre purchase inspection. Tech can scan car for codes and look over car for maintenance and repair concerns it shouldn't cost more than 100 to have car checked out
