Cadillac CTS--Tapping Noise
 

2007 Cadillac CTS--132,000 miles

I have a tapping noise coming from under the hood. It is audible moreso when I am idle, parked, or driving slow. When I'm driving fast, it cannot even be heard.

Did anyone ever experience this or know what it could possibly be?
This is getting very irritating and the tapping has gotten slightly louder over time.


Just hoping that this is something that could be simple or not too costly to repair.

Check your oil! be sure to use the correct one for the ambient temps. See your owners manual for guidance. If oil is Good then it may be the engine timing chain(s). Good luck...
