Back of seat

Anyone know how to remove the back of the seat on a 2005 Caddy CTS?
Attachment 1586 I didn't want to just pull it just in-case I broke something plus the seat has an air-bag fitted to the side. Thanks |
According to my 2005 CTS service manual;
Seat Back Trim Removal-Front 1. Grasp the top portion of the seat back trim panel and pull out to release the push-in fasteners. 2. Firmly lift upwards to remove the seat back trim from the seat assembly. Installation Procedure 1. Position the lower hooks on the seat back trim panel to the seat assembly. 2. Firmly push inwards on the top of the trim cover to secure the push-in fasteners. There is no specific caution about the SIR system for this procedure but almost every other procedure (replacing switches, motors, sensors) does carry a warning about Disabling the SIR system. Hope this helps. Mike. |
Thanks for that. I will give it a try over the weekend. :)

Let us know how it worked out. Good or bad. I always like to know if the service manual really describes the best procedure. Thanks.

Ah. Very nice. I was wondering why you needed to remove the seat backs. Now it all makes sense. Glad I could help.

I got them for Christmas so wanted them fitted as soon as I could.
