2007 CTS Ignition Key - Canada
 

I recently purchased an 07 CTS and I need another (back-up) ignition key. I see blanks are available on eBay. This is a Canadian car so will the eBay blank work OK, or am I at the mercy of a Cadillac dealer? Thanks

You need a PK3 blank generic or OEM, so you are not at the mercy of the dealer. It will need to be programmed to car prior to using it. Start car with your key then turn car off insert new key and start car. Car can accept up to ten keys.

I thought I read somewhere Canadian CTS's were "special" . I will give this a try. Where is the best place to buy a PK3 blank in Canada?

Nope, PK3 keys are fairly common for GM cars now. PK3 will be stamped on blade of key not sure where the the best deal will be.

OK - I bought a new PK3 key from the local Cadillac dealer & had it cut to match my key.
I went trough the routine of "master key" set on "ON" until security light goes out. Remove Master and insert new key & turn to "ON".
The new key will start the car, but the security light stays on. How do I get the security light to go out?
Both keys work and the light does not come on with the master key. Haven't tried driving it yet. Any ideas about the security light on the dashboard?
