2006 CTS - How do I change the air filter and cabin air filter?

Hi,

Forgive me if this has already been posted (I did a search and found nothing) but I am trying to figure out how to change the air filter and cabin air filter in my 2006 CTS 2.8L or is it worthe the $120 (air filter) and $90 (cabin air filter) they want to charge me?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

I have a service manual for an 05 CTS that details the procedure. I'm not sure how much different it would be for an 06. I can post it or e-mail it to you if you'd like. Mike.

Mike,

That would be great if you could email me the manual. My email address is chrissirwin@yahoo.com.

Thanks!

Isn't it better to have them install it?

I just changed both filters on my 05 CTS. It took about 30 minutes with basic tools. I prefer doing as much of my routine maintenance as I feel comfortable. Oil and filter changes, tire rotations, wiper blades, bulbs, et cetera. But, then again I'm a gearhead. If it requires a computer or engine analyzer, then I'd probably have to take it in.

Mike.

The owners manual will give you most info on filters etc. but do-it-yourselfers should have a service manual.
