2006 clucking sound from rear end

We just bought a 2006 CTS with 80k miles.
Looks and drives perfect in every way.
We noticed a clunking sound just before the car comes to a complete stop.
I dont think it is the brakes.
Could this be the differential?
Is this really bad? (expensive repair)

Thanks,

John

It was some kind of loose rear end mount

Thank you for giving us an update. Did you take it to a dealer or an independent mechanic?

We bought it from a Cadillac dealer.
They fixed it the next day. No charge.
But,
I think the noise is back or was not correctly or completely repaired.

There was a recall on CTS's for a leaky rearend pinion seal that could lead to failure. If it's still under warranty, don't let up until its fixed to your satisfaction.

did you request info on recalls for that model?
