2003 CTS Removing the CD Player - stuck CD removal

Hello, I'm new to this forum. My CD player seems stuck and keeps clicking or trying eject but nothing is happening. Is there a step by step tutorial on how to remove the CD player or how to fix this problem. I plan on removing the cd panel first to see if there is a CD stuck. If not, I plan on removing the stuck cd from the player. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

carefully try and help cd out of player with a knife, as you press eject button..... even if it is a 6 stacker player, it may work. good luck.

I need instructions how to remove the panel before I can get to the CD player. Are there hidden screws? Do I just stick a flat head screw driver behind the panel and pull? Thanks.

Method 1 ..
Get a 1-1/2" flexible putty knife and Scotch double-sided tape. Peel ONE side of the tape and apply tape to the putty knife, peel exposed side of tape. Insert the putty knife, press down hard, gently lift up and pull the cd out while pressing EJECT! This method works on most CD players.

Method 2 ..
Take an old CD and put double sided tape near the edge, enough to cover about 1/3 of the diameter, insert it, move it around while pressing EJECT. If your CD unit has locking arms to hold the CD down, you will have to use this method. The CD you are inserting will open the locking arms, the tape will grab the stuck CD, press EJECT and you should be home free.

The $3 solution vs. the dealer $400 ?

Cd Player

Thanks, Stomper. I'm not even sure if there is a CD stuck in the player. Can anyone tell me how to remove the panel so that I can visually see the CD player? Thanks.
