2003 body part question
 

2003 CTS backup lamp assembly replacement .

I ordered a new from GM replacement for 2003 CTS , the 2003 has a flat dark grey lamp assembly with a clear plastic cover that covers from left to right, including actual back up lites, the GM part is # 19120432.

When new part arrived it is painted silver, looks like to match body paint, and does not have clear plastic cover over actual back up lites.

This suggest to me its not for a 2003 as I have noticed 2004 and newer models are painted body color and do not have plastic cover.

While it may fit cavity, does anyone know if in fact GM has made a change to this part.

The GM dealer is reputable and would not run risk of stiffing me ,
