service tire monitor

Hello everyone I'm a brand new owner of a 2005 cadillac sts.

I've had it for about 3 days and i noticed one night when i was coming home i heard an odd squealing noise coming from the back left tire/break/wheel.

When I press the break the sound goes away, if i press the gas the sound goes away.

It is only making this noise when im going slow in a parking lot and not pressing down the gas or break.

Later that day I got a message saying SERVICE TIRE MONITOR.

I researched the book and read what it told me to do but I dont think that has anything to do with the noise it is making.

Any ideas? I really would hate to have to put it in the shop for 5 days and pay for a rental car.

Thanks everybody here for your time and patience,
Have a good day.

RE: service tire monitor

I think you are hearing the brake pad wear sensors. They make this type of noise without brake application and it will quit when you apply the brakes. Have a shop that offers a free brake inspection look at all four.
