shifting Lights flashing

A friend of mine volunteered to put in a new CV Axle , it was too long , right part # he pounded on it with a block of wood , finally we took it back and got another which fit no problem ! But now my shifting lights on the counsel do not work , the ones on the dash are flashing , the service engine light is on and also the battery light , but everything is working fine any ideas what he might have upset ?
Love this car , 2000 Eldorado ETC

Hard to say..which side was it?
Could be just some wiring that maybe got pinched in the process. Need to check for codes in all of the modules, and see what the car thinks is happening...

codes

Ya I was thinking of taking it to Advance in the morning to get them to pull the codes for me , the least they could do seeing they sold us the CV axle that was to long

Well I did not sleep well thinking of all the things that could cause the problem , I did remember I had a newer code reader and thought about it until it finally came to me where I had put it , between old and in the middle of looking for a new home , stuff is stored, we are living in our 5th wheel behind our daughters place!

Well we got 13 codes , never bothered looking them up just hit remove , well it seems to have fixed everything including the shifting , was hard but now like it should be , all that is left now is it keeps telling me to check oil and it is fine , maybe when we change the oil and reset it might fix it !

That's good news! 13 codes, however, may not be! Let's hope they don't return. Let us know if they do, and what they are.
