Default 96 Cadillac not getting coolant in engine?

I just replaced the water pump and thermostat. I thought there was relief valve for air but I read there is none on northstars. Could it possibly be a plugged radiator? It sat all winter and I did have water in it but put antifreeze in it before it got cold? The engine will get hot but the radiator wll be bone cold? Any oppinions would be appreciated
thanks

are your getting heat inside the car when you turn on the heat? if not, coolant level is low.

other than that, thermostat is likely backwards or defective .. pull it, put it in a pot of boiling water and see if it opens.

report back ...

I think I have an obstructed purge, but I cannot find where this is at on the northstar, I have read they are self purging systems. I need some help on this one guys please, the upper tank (plastic) will stay full and will not move.

Did you have this problem before you changed the water pump?
Is this why you changed the wp?
Could there be something with one of the hoses, perhaps collapsed, or restricted?

Yes that is why I changed the water pump, IM positive that i didnt crimp or constrict any hoses its not bleeding the air from the system!

Radiator could be blocked, If hose is hot and core is cold = restricted radiator.

FIXED!! Like I thought the bleed hose or splurge hose was clogged at the TB so I just did a bypass, cooler air 2!
