1984 cadillac eldarado barritz engine swap

I just found a 1984 cadillac eldarado barritz,I am very excited about this car I started it up and its a little sluggish.I really want to customize the car is there serious motor that I can replace the HT4100 with.I really want a motor with some punch.can you point me in the right direction about getting a new motor for the barritz cause I want it A1

Now and then, I see such requests and all I can say is that your best bet may be an Allante 4100 engine .. 1987 / 1988.

Anything else may be a serious and expensive adventure due to the computer controls . I know that there has been some 4500 and 4900 swaps.

Interesting enough is that the FIERO community is probably the most experienced in doing such things as they tend to love Cadillac engines.

"The 4.9 engine swap for the Fiero seems to be gaining popularity every day. What started as just a handful of people with crazy ideas has now turned into a community of 4.9 swappers.

The general consensus is that this is an easy, low budget swap. It may perhaps be one of the least expensive, but I find it no easier than any of the other GM FWD swaps.

Performance is very near or equal to a Series II 3800 Supercharged engine."

Maybe someone that has done something different will come along and post.
