Hello Everyone, Sorry for just jumping in with the question,
My name is Roger , I love to try things that everyone says can't be done. I'm a fabracator/welder by trade,  I love to build odd things.  I just put a GSXR 1000 in a mini Indy car I built & got it STREET Legal in Ca.   My next task in putting a North* in my jet boat.  Here is a little more info on me ,,,,,       rogerslittlecars.com
                                 Thanks   Roger

what are you  using for the transmission/drive?    that is going to be important.

a couple suggestions.... ?

Katzman can probably give you valuable input,
FLCaddytech  can probably tell you what computer modules and sensors have to
stay with the N*  to run well.
others can help in other various ways.

aside that, go to the Hobby Corner and post the project.
there are fabricator types lurking this site and if needed, i will get some more to come
by for a visit.

welcome to the site

Hello, & Thanks for the Welcome ,,,, The drive is direct, I'll be machining an adaptor to go from the crank to a 1310 series U-joint  , that goes right into the Berkly jet pump, I'll be making all my own engine plates for mounting, I'll be making my own stainless headers( maybe water cooled), I have all the sensors that I need( I think ) But I would like to lose the EGR valve & some other stuff,
I know I can use a stand alone ECM system like the sand cars use (about $1500) but I think with some help from this site I could use the stock PCM & use the $1500 for gas ,,,  I'm new to this site & I'm just learning my way around ,,,So any Help or advise would be greatly appreciated.            Thanks   Roger

Roger,

1st, i'm taking this thread to the Vehicular Projects so it gets attention and does not get
lost in the intro section.  often the TECHs dont look there.

it has been a long long time since i messed with hex code, peeks and pokes, and binary code,
rusty i am .. actually,   more than rusty.

i sugest you touch bases with Bruce at the site below and see if he can help with your ECM challenge.
http://www.geocities.com/ecmguy.geo/bruce/prog_101.html

here are some of the things you are looking at.  I also believe the shifting of the trani is affected,
but dont know how the direct drive can be dealt with..

Address Range Purpose
$0000-0001
Checksum
$0002-$0003 Scan ID
$0004 EPROM Template ID
$0032-0106 Main Spark table, 3d
$015E-0165 WOT Spark adder
$017F-0187 Knock sensor retard at WOT
$0188-018C Knock sensor retard non WOT
$030E-0312 MAP Power Enrichment
$0314-031D
TPS Power Enrichment
$037F-03C6 Main Fuel table, 3d
$03C7-03D7 Main fuel table Adder
$044A-0458 Crank Air Fuel Ratio Vs Coolant
$0459-0468
Air Fuel Ratio Vs Coolant
$047D-0485
Percent of TPS to enable PE
$050D-050F
Error Code Masks
$05F5-0605 Air Fuel Ratio Vs Coolant
$060E-0616
Idle Speed Temperature Corrections

whatever you learn, we would appreciate your coming back and keeping us posted
as you make progress.  the TECHs here may also jump in and give some adivce, but i'm
not sure this is within their experience.  maybe it is, dont know.

IMO, this is one interesting project that can be done,
with effort and learning.

please do keep us posted.
