Hey guys, Can anyone help me? I've been trying to install a new water pump on my '67 convertible deville with 429 ci. My problem is I can't get the water manifold on without leaks after the water pump is installed. Is there a trick to the O-ring and manifold-to-head gasket set up? should I put the water manifold onto the pump before I try to put it all together? What should I seal the O-ring with where it meets the pump? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanx, Chris

i missed this one before. not sure why you would need TWO o-rings but if it works so be it. maybe the O-Ring you were given was not fat enough or the surfaces were not quite coming together for some reason? an old trick from my B52 / F4 days is to use "bee's was" to hold things in place while one does the assy in weird hard to access spots. I still carry a block of the stuff along with my "safety wire pliers". "IF it is good enough for a F4 Fanthom , it is good enough for any of my cars" .
