Boeing 767 runs out of fuel at 41,000 feet what do you have?
Answer: A 132 ton glider with a sink rate of  2000 ft / min

leets head for a deadstick landing at the local dragstrip.

Thanks Stealth for that, had forgotten about that incident. That is 24 years ago. I have to fly into a lot of obscure places in my job and all I can say is that when I get on an Air Canada plane to come home there is no feeling like it. Their pilots are top knotch, I know one who flew combat missions in CF-18's in Gulf War I and I always have a look at the piolts when boarding, if they look 40 to 60 I am pretty confident they are military trained and have the skills needed to pull off something like this.

There is a memorial in the glades near where I go bass fishing.  Sad site indeed as there are stuffed animals left behind for the children on this flight.  I don't believe anything was recovered as the flight was just swallowed by the glades muck.  Needless tradgedy.
