I am considering a purchase of a second car for weekend travel (mostly interstate) and light in-town driving (errands, etc.). I am seeking a car that is comfortable to drive, with a smooth drive and ride, a quiet ride, somewhat a floater ride like most Cadillacs have. In my area there are several models to choose from:

1985 Seville 42K actual miles, pampered, serviced, very very clean, all options work

1991 Eldorado Biarritz 90K, serviced, clean, 4.9 engine

1991 Seville, white, clean leather, 92K, 4.9 engine

1996 and 1997 Seville -- clean, higher milers (152K and 131K), no service records, appear to be clean and well maintained

1994 Eldorado, clean, high miles (130K)

Which vehicle would you recommend based on what I have written and your own experiences? Thanks

Unless you find a good deal on a '76 eldo I don't know if you will get the FLOATER.  For what you are using it for I would go with your preference of body style and make your best deal.  Good luck hunting.

well....the 1985 seville is a beautiful classic and those miles are amazing, BUT it is a bigger seville and gas milage is not very good. The 1991 Seville or Eldorado are both very nice and somewhat smaller cars, very dependable and very good milage for the year. My personal preference is lower miles over year all other things being equal. My choice would be one of these 3. I would probably go for the 85, but then again I love older caddies.

Both the 91 and 94 Eldorado as well as the 96 and 97 Seville recommend premium gas. The 85 Seville uses regular gas.  All great cars, so this may or may not be something to factor into your decision.

Sources:  Cadillac history on the internet and fueleconomy.gov.

I am the proud new owner of a 1989 Eldorado and love it.  Thanks to all the Cadillac enthuiasts on this site as well for helping me in my decision.
