The car to have now would be the police equipped '69 Malibu sedan.  A four-door Malibu with a factory-installed 396?  I have no idea how many were built, but the NY State Police had at least one, according to the pictures I've been able to find.  Sleepers are cool.

I always remember this one as my favourite. I think this is the one that started the bad ass reputation for cop cars. A Buick Century 322 CID V8, 236 HP, 1955 2 door post Special body except  4 portholes from the Century and Roadmaster front end. Add in Broderick Crawford. Car was not available to the public, 135 manuals and 135 automatics made. Does it get any better than that? Two are said to have survived to date.

After going 18 years with white cars the new OPP (Ontario provincial Police)  Commssioner has his own idea of what a highway patrol car should look like. It's a big deal here, espepcially since all of these Police Interceptors are made in St. Thomas Ontario. I've only seen three on the road as they change out the fleet, but they look pretty nice though.
