I have a 1996 Cadillac Seville Sts and there is no heat or air comming out of my vents.  I called my local dealership and they want $600 to replace the fan blower.   How can I test this to make sure it is the fan blower?  Where are the fuses for the fan blower and can I test the fuse?  Is it easy to install the fan blower?  Any help would be greatly apperciated.  Thanks

Adam

Check the fuse first, the owners manual in your glove box will point you to the right fuse. Let us know how that works.

Isn't for the blower it is a different type of fuse?  How do I test this out?  Let me know. Thanks

According to the '97 Owner's Manua,l there is only one fuse related to HVAC, and it's common for the CD Player, RKE, Controlled Power Relay(?), Air Control Module(ACM), and PZM. If it's the same for '96 (which I think it is), and any of these work, then it ain't a blown fuse.

You said that there was no air coming out of the vents, but did the controls work? You definitely should hear the blower work even if the air diverter doors got stuck. If you don't hear the blower, it' s prolly dead or on the way out. Just to make sure, detach the wire going to the blower motor and spry some electonic contact cleaner into both ends and reseat it. If the motor is kaputt, follow thertruerebel's posting...

Speaking of air diverter doors, mine is stuck so that it only blows air up on the windshield. How do I find that door to make it send air out the ducts at me?
