I pulled the following codes from my '98 Deville today.  I then did a search and got these brief and vague descriptions of the problems.  Could anyone elaborate on any of these???  I'm having a SERIOUS security problem right now!!!  These were all of the current codes.... minus the stupid lost signal ones.

B1983             Device Power Circuit Low
B2118             Front Vertical Sensor Failed
IPC B2711      PASSKey Open/Shorted Pellet After Good Key
SDM B1126   Driver Deployment Loop Open
TCS U1301    Class 2 Short to Battery
TCS C1255    EBCM Internal Malfunction
TCS C1276    Delivered Torque Signal Circuit Malfunction
TCS U1255    Class 2 Communication Malfunction (Serial Data Line Malfunction)
PZM B2471    Interior Lamp Fault
MSM B0856   Battery 2 Out of Range
MMM B2147  Left Front Mirror Horizontal Position Sensor Circuit High

that is a lot of  codes. seems electrical in nature.

i be looking for a disconnected harness connector, dirty grounding straps,
oxidized BUSS connections, loose connectors to computer control boxes
,
and if nothing there, i be reading the thread that addresses 90% of the problems
we see in our cars:  e-ghosts, intermittent, dielectric

http://www.cadillacforum.com/m_6068/tm.htm

get a can of contact cleaner and a can of dielectric grease before you start.
besides, we all should have these two items in our tool boxes at all times.
after 8 years in Ohio, connector oxidation is not unheard of.

a worse posibility is a failed computer box or a shorted wire.

lol

Well now that you mention it, I'm having all the Security/Electrical problems mentioned in another thread.... so that may be my problem right there!  Now, where would I take the car to get a full electrical diagnostics done other than the dealer???  They want $300 to even open the damn door!!! And could you elaborate a little more on the items and locations you mentioned above???

If and only IF you have a local mechanic that you can trust, he can scan the car just like the dealer and start tracking this down.

Make sure whether you go to the dealer or the local guy that no work is to be done without your approval.  Look for  a place on the work order for you to indicate this. There may be a small charge for checking out your problem.

If you have no way of checking this out yourself I don't see another solution.
