turtles basic car wax is the best. If you have chrome bumpers or other chrome parts on your car then use mothers chrome polish

I'm also a big fan of McGuire's but I only use the "quick detailer" spray on / wipe off.  My detailer clays the car, then applies a sealer used by Lexus new car dealers - sounds like Rejex.  They charge $800 - $1000 but he charges me $250. No need to wax for 5 years!  I use the quick detailer because I can't help myself because I'm such a wax & shine addict.  Anyway, due to this process, the finish on my '99 DTS still looked showroom new when I sold it a year ago and just had my '06 DTS done and the glare from the shine will blind you!

any opinion on  Turtle Wax "Ice" polish (liquid clay)  followed by Rejex?

in the old days, products with lots CARNUBA was the only way to go,
Turtle was for the economy minded, not the perfectionist.

then:
i usually washed at 8m (with Ph balanced soap) and REAL SHEEP SHAMMY
leather,
which the cats liked to eat now and then.

started waxing at 9am, 1 hr lunch break,  and was done wax by 4pm,
another hr to clean carpets, the whole interior, 5pm approaching.
just in time to cruise and show it off.   no power buffers ever  -
only hand power, cotton towels, q-tips and lots of ROCK & ROLL music ...
my dad claimed this was meant to torture him (noise).

now:
- i use a DUSTER and avoid washing the cars for months at a time,
car covers do wonders ...
- wax once a year - too many cars, some never get any,
and when i must (black Allanté & black Mark VII),  give me a 30 min process or forget it ...

BTW,
i WILL NOT run any of my vehicles through a car wash, much less use the car wash spray wax.
i can not even phatom the idea of having 14 guys jumping in & out of the Allanté breaking
plastic gismos, ripping the leather, and spraying silicones on her.
my '88 black Allanté, after 19 years, is all original OEM, is pretty and is staying that way..

hey, there is a DINNER here where on Wed they have a CLASSICS get togheter
at 5pm in parkign lot - Dinner reserves about 15 spots for THEM.
i make sure i go for pie and coffee  on Wed and park across them the sit by the window,
sure enough, i always see them lurking around that Stealth's Allanté..
have no clue if they complement or bad mouth - but they do  lurk every time.

Check out Rejex, you will never wax your car again.  Clay and rejex, after rejex car must be out of the elements for 12 or 24 hours.  There is a scientific reason for this that I won't go in to now.  Do a google, I'm telling you , you will never wax your car again.  Many allante drivers are aware of this stuff now, also many show cars use it because finish is easier to maintain once applied.

If anyone has used this stuff and not had good results please post your experiences.

Thanks,

G.A.R.Y.
