I have a 368ci(6.0) engine and I believe a th400 trans. I think I need to replace it. I would like to put a beefed up 700r4 in it, or mabey a th350 cause I have one. I was told that a 700r4 won't bolt to the 368ci. Is this true? I thought all GM's small blocks and big blocks used same transmissions. A little advice please.

Hey Coupe: the only transmissions that I have listed for this engine are the 200, the 200C , the 2004R, the 350, the 350C, the 400  .  That is assuming you don,t have front drive. Hope that helps.

Okay, then the th350 in my garage should bolt up. Is there a adapter to make the bell housing of a 700r4 bolt to the 368. I would really like over drive for mpg purposes. So then no Caddy big block ever had an over drive trans? That doesn't seem quite right to me.
