Are there any people interested in the "fin era" models? I have a problem with my 1961 2dht Coupe Deville. I have electrical windows and rear left window is not working. Could anyone give me tips how to remove the window motor? It's in very difficult place and I wouldn't like to cause any more damage by taking it out using too much violence.

Ermine, are you hanging around?

Anyho, a couple of things you should do before tackling the window motor/regulator removal.
    Make sure the problem is not at the switches; If the window won't budge either by the master switch or its own, then proceed to the motor;

    Pull the door panel (and the water deflector sheet, if it's still there). Through the big opening try reaching the motor by a piece of 2x4, and just bang on it a few times. Window motors are very durable and the windings seldom burn out; however, the brushes do wear out and it is possible that when it was used the last time, it stopped in a position where it lost contact with the commutators. Often a little nudging gets it going again. Ask me, how I know...

Unfortunately, even if he is still hanging round he has no rear door panel to pull in his two door hardtop. Secondly I would guess it has been to the local Cad dealer by now for "whatever" they can do.  Hopefully finding an old, old mechanic.

Oops, where are my glasses ? The bangin' would still be first on my list, albeit with redesigned tools.

Step No.1 - Get the Eyesight-Tonic and put it in a cooler;
Step No. 2 - Remove Quarter Window;
    Remove the back seat (cushion and seat back), arm rest and trim assembly. There will be an access hole cover on the inner panel - remove that as well.
    Remove the raar guide attaching screws and remove the guide. Unscrew the lower sash channel and remove the cam. Drink a little tonic. Loosen the lower stop and slide it down; Now the window can be removed after some jiggling.

Step No. 3 - Remove the Regulator;
    Easy: Unscrew it and pull it out through the access hole;

Step No. 4 - Finish the tonic.
