Hey guys, I have a '99 deville and the drivers seat won't heat. The light turns on when I flip the switch to high and low. Any ideas? Thanx!

My '00 DHS had the same problem, with several seats, when it was newer. Under warranty the dealer replaced the entire outer leather skin, which on my model was integral with the heater elements. Actually, most dealers will sublet this repair to an upholstery shop. I had to keep taking the car back, because the upholsters would put in new skins and the heaters would work, but they would botch all sorts of trim pieces. Each time, I would get it back with (for example) the original two trim damage spots repaired, but a new one broken. Then, a year later, the heater would burn out again. I was told that the heater elements in this era were of poor quality and would be damaged by the weight of passengers (and I am not a heavyweight). Now my DHS is out of warranty, the passenger seat heater quit on me, and the dealer and an independent upholstery shop both quote $500 to fix it. Not worth it in So Cal, especially with my history of "collateral damage" and short life of the new elements. That, plus the new outer skin may not be an absolute perfect match to the rest of your seats. It's probably not worth the cost to you to fix it with this in mind. Maybe if you're lucky it's an undone harness connector or fuse. My switch lights also came on even though no heat was supplied. I hope the new models have changed the heater elements for greater reliability.
