Hello! I am new to this Cadillac forum and it looks nice! I just bought a Volant cold air intake for my 2004 CTS 3.6 and was wondering if I need to get my computer reprogrammed after I install it? Is my computer going to recognize more air through my mass airflow sensor and dump more fuel? Thanks for the responses!

It should learn the new intake within a couple days. Sometimes sooner.
This is based on my experiance with other late model cars and not an 04 CTS.
A Dyno tune or some sort of A/F calibration would maximize the gains from any modification.
If it sets a check engine light get the code checked and cleared. If it returns then a PCM reflash or other modification may be needed.

I know CTS-V LS6 programming is out but i haven't seen anything for the V6 yet.

Hope this helps.

Hello Simonc17,

We are currently working on several performance parts for the CTS/ CTS-V (i.e. Intake, ECU, and Exhaust). If you would like to be informed about these products as they are released please contact us with your information.

Thank You,

D3,

What can D3 possibly add to the CAI market that's not already there? I mean there's Volant (the preferred brand by most CTS owners) and K&N. There's not a whole lot more that can be done other than punching through to the area in front of the driver's side inner fender ahead of the wheel liner or cutting-down the front radiator mount and going direct to the front of the car. This is not a sarcastic question, it's a legitimate one. Borla is going to provide a 3.6L exhaust sytem, and CORSA already has one. The ECU has two companies on it already.

Hello SoCal,

Our goal here at D3 Research & Design is to be the premiere Cadillac Tuner for all of the Cadillac product lines. Our attention to detail and ease of installation are our specialties. Everything is built to O.E.M. specs if not better; this is what separates us from the rest. As far as our Intakes are concern, we produce more horse power gains in our Intakes then the Volant CAI unit. Our Exterior Appearance Packages can be installed by your local Cadillac Dealership making color matching and installation that much easier. Our products can also be financed with the purchase of your vehicle making it easier to upgrade your Cadillac by financing the product, rather then providing the cash up front. In conclusion we are not trying to reinvent the wheel; we just want to take all the guess work out of it for you (Plug & Play). If there are any more questions please fill free to give us a call.

Thank You,

C.T.

Any dyno sheets available that you can post here for review? Thanks.
