ORIGINAL: |[AngkoriaN]| I get ac from the windshield defroster and the floor but not the front vent. At the same time, i get a clicking noise from the inside of the dash. I did some researching and all i found was a door module. Other than finding that out, i also realize that some other deville owners also have the same problem but nobody seem to have the solution. I appreciate any help..Thank you. you are easily, as the Eagle flies, the farthest distance from America .. welcome to our site. I believe that the issue can be either the module that controls the gates or the electrics that do the gate movements. I believe Katz has dealt with this before .. maybe he will jump in later ...

Thanks alot Stomper. That is also the problem that I found throughout my researching but yet to find the best solution for it. I have ask several local automotive shop, they said that the cadi needs to get diagnosted first in order to find out what the problem is. I have consider taking it to the dealership but dont know if they are going to be like a "stealership" instead. hahaha. Thanks again Stomper, I will wait for Katz.

This may seem like a big problem but usually it isn''t. The problem is where this stuff is usually means dash pad coming off, nasty in most folks minds. Could be as simple as lubricating the door blender rods or even control module replacement. If you feel up to taking it apart youself make sure you have a voltmeter to check control and patience to take it apart and put it back right, otherwise take it to the shop.

I took the dash pad off, the glove compartment, the speedometer, ac control unit, the radio, and all of the lower portion of the dash and ended up with nothing. There is the frame that is blocking the way to get in side the dash. I can still hear the clicking noise but still dont have access to it. What is this particular piece call? Does anyone have a picture of where it is located and how about of getting to it? Thanks for the help Katzmans and everyone else. I will post up proper steps and procedure with pictures as soon as I can figure this out.

A shop manual will tell you. It is time consuming and tough scanning it and posting for you but I will see what can be done over the next few days. You need to pull the front face off too and then you will see the vents and doors etc..I believe.

I have the same problem with a 2000 DTS, as described above, no vents, clicking noise under the dash. I tried to access the unit by removing the console, and locating. No luck. If anyone has solution, please contact me. Question, how much of dash do I have to remove to remove the vent mechanism? Thanks.

I just bought a 2002 Deville, 66K for $8,700. Noitced air flow problems. Ran the error codes on the dash and found 2 codes for actuators. Cadillac dealer (didn''t sell me the car) said this is a common problem and when it goes completely then you only get air from defrost and below as you are having. Fortunately the Lincoln dealer who sold me the car said they would fix it. They tried for 2 days, gave up, and sent it to Cadillac, who ended up charging them $950 (ouch) to replace the two bad actuators! $650 was for labor so they must be a pain to get to.
