that is a good suggestion on the water pump ... i was thinking of doing that anyways if nothing else to eliminate possiblities.  But i brought it to a shop this morning and at first they couldn''t even get it to over heat  but after the longer road trip <which i said it would take> they got it to and told me that while it was hooked up to there computer the dash wouuld say 255 but there computer <hooked up to my cars computer> said it was only running at 226.  which i beleave is where it should be.  Which would mean it''s just the sensor.  so now i have to wait a couple days for the ordering of the part and the weekend.  i thought about just takeing my car back and doing it myself but i figured i would atleast have them do that much for me sense they found the problem for me ... i hope that is the problem.  .. i origianal didn''t think this was the problem because i could hear the water bubbleing in the resivore and it seemed to be running hot.  but i guess if it runs at <high end> 225 and water boils at 212.  .. i guess it would be bubbleing a bit,   lol   thanks again for all the suggestions much appreciated

225 would be the highest consistent reading we like to see. Did the car ever kick into Limp Home mode, I think that is 248? If not I think the sensor might be an issue BUT you are losing coolant too remember..
