New member, thanks in advance! My ''00 SLS idles rough at startup until I rev the engine a couple times, then strong smell(fuel maybe) then it is fine. After some research am I guessing right that I need to pull codes first? Or a cracked plenum? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Pulled the codes and came up with only one, ABS C1246(brake lining wear circuit open). They were completely wore off so I didn''t reconnect them. Next step anyone? Thank you.

If I remember the maintenance records correctly, I believe the fuel pressure regulator was changed at 13k miles. I will get it looked at....or is this something me and my neighbor can figure out....?

What is it with everyone lately going to the plenum? Check for vaccum leaks, have a look at simple things, fuel filter and air filter. After that I''''m suggesting plugs and coil. Change the plugs, they are probably 8 years old anyway same for coils. Not cheap to change coils but not a bad idea either. I have an old muscle car and it was running badly. I did a tune up, points, rotor, Dist Cap, wires and plugs. I was able to take 3/4 of a turn out of the idle mixture and the car runs awesome now. It proves what good these parts do, 3/4 turn on idle mixture is huge, I''''ve gone from gas sucking to gas miser.
