Hi,
Ok, took the first 4 plugs out, found the fourth was the problem (so far).  IF we put a good one on the fourth and that goes bad, does it necessarily mean that that is the problem?? Trying to self-fix. Could the fuel injectors just be dirty??    *Sent hubby to store to pick up all new park plugs....trying the process of elimination.
thanks,
Kim

Misfires are caused by bad air and fuel mixtures, O2 sensors, mass air sensor, fuel pressure regulator and fuel leaks can cause misfires.  Question does your car start well when cold and take several seconds to start after it has been running?  If it does check the fuel pressure regulator to see if it is bad.  Go to the starting problem thread to learn how to check ther fuel pressure regulator.  If the regulator is good check the mass air sensor and the O2 sensor.

Hope this helps

Hi, No, no problems starting. Been great till this past week with no warning when it began to shake/miss. it happened and then the engine light immediately came on.  we thougfht it may have been a bad batch of gas. got fuel at a diffrent station and 20 miles later (thats the head scratcher) this all happend. like I mentioned in another post, the plugs were replaced (not an easy task with the rear plugs....poor design there!), fuel filter replaced, checked the plug boots for cracks, all o-rings are in place and in good condition.  5 days on this "project".             The exhaust smells diffrent than usual. Not like rotten eggs.
