I''ve had a problem since i purchased this car with a knocking/banging sound from the right rear when riding over moderate bumps. The folks who sold her to me mentioned a loose strut mount, and i never had the time to tear her apart and examine the upper mount. No codes or problems, just an irritating knock that shouldn''t be there.
Since then i''ve peeked at a couple of illustrations, and i can''t see if there IS a ''shock (or strut) mount'' or ''insulator'' that would come loose; everything seems to be part of the bolt-in shock. And, of couirse, i have the fancy expensive ones.
Can anyone familiar with this suspension tell me if there ARE replaceable mounts that hold the rear shock to the vehicle and are capable of wearing out or coming loose?
