I think the o-ring(s)/seals used for the oil-fliter pipe feeding the adapter are a cause for another leak I need to fix. Apparently this is a common problem on this engine. My local ACDelco parts house doesn't have it/them and says it's a dealer-only item. This is going to be a problem! Does anyone know if these are 'different' than regular o-rings? I've got plenty of regulars. Also, are there any gaskets involved? I don't want to tear into this without having the correct replacements on-hand. This car needs to be available. Thanks for any help offered.

Thanks for any help offered. there is no magic involved in the o-rings but they must be for the use in OIL or they will break down quickly. there are no "regular o-rings" .. they are formulated to stand the environment where they will reside .. walking into a hardware store and buying plain o-rings, may or may not satisfy the environmental reqs .. the same applies to hoses and any rubber items throughout the car. make sure they are "oil resistant", same dia, same thickness .. personally, I go to the dealer and get the right ones .. you will also have the added benefit that when the GM parts guy pulls up the exploded parts screen, he will also see if you need anything else that we can all miss. sorry for the delay .. our website has gone a severe attack .. probably from people that would love to see us go down for various reasons .. we are trying to get back to speed.

Thank you very much for the response! Local ACDelco says they are Dealer-Only items. Dealer doesn't carry the pieces anymore....something about a 17yr cut-off! I understand the differences in types of o-rings, no problem. I'm just troubled that when I disassemble these parts, I'll have the correct replacements for the repair. FSM isn't much help as to any gasket used or the specifics of the seals/o-rings (part #s etc.) If I can pull the offending pieces out and match them at the parts-house, I'm good. Again, thanks for the reply and help!
