Mt Wilson FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions Isn't Mount Wilson affected by the lights of the cities below? It doesn't really get dark there anymore, does it? Are those old telescopes still useful? Isn't there new technology that makes newer telescopes better? Are the telescope domes cooled inside? I heard the observatory closed down several years ago. Is anything happening there anymore?
