My dad just bought a 2008 DTS and his check engine light came on this morning and the remote start doesn't work on it now. Does anyone have a clue about what that might mean? He's taking into the shop in but he was wondering what might cause this issue. He called onstar and they said that a sensor needed to be reset for his remote start to work again. I don't really know to much about new cars so I'm still learning about the caddy's inside and outs. Also has anyone heard about if they are going to stop selling the dts in 2010?

I had the same issue with my 06 DTS. IT turned out to be a faulty Oxygen Sensor which the Dealer promptly replaced. It occured six months ago and no further problem.

I've heard that in 2010 they're going to put the STS together with the DTS/DHS and stop making the 4.6 Northstar, that's what a Cadillac dealer told me.

Not sure what the codes were. It's still in the shop. I had the same issue with my 06 and I had the sensor changed (oxygen 2) that fixed it. Thanks for the info about the DTS possibly leaving the market. I hate to see it go, but it's time for a change and cadillac is heading in the right direction.

You''re right - they''re combining the STS and DTS in one flagship model yet to be named.  It will be a rear wheel drive vehicle based on the upcoming full-sized Pontiac platform, (G8 I think). They had hoped for 2010 intro but I hear that due to economic hardship it may be delayed until 2012.  It will be geared toward the Mercedes S series fans but within reach of "the common man" at around $55k pretty well equipped.  I''m not sure what engine as they will be retiring the current Northstar.

At that price I guess I''ll no longer be a "common man" but just a pauper(?)  I''ll have to replace my 06 DTS w/ a new CTS Coupe - hopefully a convertible model by then.  I think that the new CTS wagon is due in 2010.
