Hello this is my first post, I've never considered a Cadillac before until GM rolled out the 08 CTS. Looks like quite a vehicle. I've always driven import sedans but I do have a 5 gen Corvette. I'm a little confused on the options with the CTS- I want the manual 6 speed transmission. I know the '09 CTS-V will have that option but I just can't afford that car as much as I'd like one. For the "regular" CTS', it seems that the 6 speed manual is only available with the non DI version car. Is this correct? I hope not. Regardless I haven't seen many manual CTS's period. So, can you get a CTS with DI with the manual 6 speed?

OK I went straight to the source and wrote to GM via the Cadillac website. I actually got a response within an HOUR! Here's what they had to say: "Thank you for contacting Cadillac and your interest in the 2008 CTS! We appreciate the time you have taken to write us. There are three transmission options for the 2008 CTS and all three are available in both the base engine and the Direct Injected engine. The Aisin 6-speed manual and Hydra-Matic 6-speed automatic transmission are the options for rear-wheel drive 2008 CTSs while there is a Hydra-Matic 6-speed automatic transmission specific to all-wheel drive (AWD) CTSs. There is no manual transmission available for the CTS AWD. We are nearing the end production for the 2008 CTS and, depending on your plans, you may consider ordering a 2009 CTS. The 2009 CTS is scheduled to begin production on June 9, 2008. Typically, vehicles begin to arrive at dealers 6-8 weeks after production begins. Your local Cadillac dealer would be able to assist you in ordering your CTS once production begins. If you are not familiar with the dealers in your area, an easy way to find one is by using the Locate Dealer web tool at http://www.cadillac.com. Below, we have taken the liberty of listing the scheduled changes planned for the 2009 CTS. We hope this information proves helpful. Deletions Exterior color (25U) Blue Chip Exterior color (53U) Radiant Bronze Exterior color (67U) Light Platinum Exterior color (78U) Sunset Blue New Features Exterior color (17U) Radiant Silver Exterior color (58U) Black Ice. Available at extra charge. Exterior color (96U) Blue Diamond Tricoat. Available at extra charge. OnStar with Bluetooth capability At Cadillac, we strive to provide exceptional customer service. If we can be of any further assistance please email us or call 1-800-333-4223, between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., Eastern Time, seven days a week. Thank you for contacting Cadillac! Sincerely, The Cadillac Marketing Team http://www.cadillac.com "

I got a feeling that very few manual CTS came out in '08 and those were probably mainly designed to satisfy the crossovers from the Vette community. .
