Hello All!

I'm @ 54k on 04 Ext and I got to thinking, should I change out the spark plugs?  I read the manual and called caddy service and they said in that Mr goodwrench voice "NO,No, no those plugs are go to 100k or more sir!"  Is that really a true statement?  With gas @ almost $3.50 a gallon, I'd like to get the best MPG I can.  I know, I'm not driving a Toyota Prius but I know I'm good for 17-19 in the city when I dont feel the NEED FOR SPEED.

1.Has anyone else changed out their plugs "early" or left them alone?
2.Should they be replaced with platinum or Iridium Spark plugs?

No need to replace plugs for 100k miles. Is car running rough?  If everything is good, I would leave 'em in and then, IMHO use oem plugs to replace.

I do believe that you already have not only platinum, but DUAL PLATINUM.

I'm going into the 150,000, same plugs .. if it works, dont mess with it.
These cars are touchy .. "live and let live"

IMO, more cars need mechanics due to "mechanics" creating the need.
