Yeah.. long story.

Anyway, I'm trying to coax this thing back in there in my 99 SLS and I have a feeling a latch has been broken off somewhere. I can figure it out if I am able to confidently remove the whole back panel and possibly rig the broken latch. Does anyone know where I can find a diagram of the seat assembly if one should exist? Or has anyone out there taken the panel off the back of thier driver's seat? THANKS!!

cops with an attitude?

i may be wrong, speaking of "usual practice", not expertise.

most seats have the back attached by two little screws at the bottom,
often hard to get to until the seat is shifted all the way forward.
you may just have that type of attachment.

Hopefully someone will chime in on more or correct details.

Well, I looked around for any screws that attach the panel to my seat, but couldn't really see any.

I did notice that inside the inner workings of the seat there is a thin plastic strip that runs arcoss the top of the skeleton of the seat that has been snapped off, hence leaving a plastic tab that connects the panel to the skelton useless.

I doubt this thread will help anyone else out with any interior prolems they have, so I apologize for posting and wish everyone else more luck with their run-ins with the cops in their caddys.

In this here site, posting is encouraged for any reason or purpose, we try to have a section
or spot where just about anything fits in.   we believe that writing is good for the soul, specially
the one of the reader, and its impossible to predict what helps someone else.

You have already helped.  Now I know there arent any screws.
and I bet Gary has a smirk about my suggestion on the screws.
So you see, it was good ... for him.

Now that I said that, you are still leaving us hanging on the gossip part ..
what happened?  Let us hear the juicy details.

So, now that the problem has been solved we can move on to the juicy details.

So, I'm driving down some backroads in a little hick-town leaving a bar -- you know where this is heading-- and I get pulled over in my Cadillac....

I don't know why the state trooper thought I was a drug smuggler seeing as though I'm a babyfaced 5'3'' 120 lbs young woman, but he suspected I was smuggling drugs inside my drivers seat or something.

Maybe he just felt like breaking somebody's stuff that night.

Either way, I'm in the back of his squad car pissed off and pouting and he's armed with enough probable cause to give my poor caddy a cavity search.

So, I see him yanking on the back of my driver's seat while I'm seated in his car for a DUI. That really irked me so I start to throw a hissy fit in the car loud enough for him to come over and reprimand me for kicking his window.

I know this is no way to act when your handcuffed in the back seat of a cop car, BUT I feel this was a smart move b/c I'm certain he would have just torn my car limb from limb that night. Instead he had to tend to me while I threw a fit in the backseat of this car for an hour.

sheesh. I really dislike cops.

Ok, start making fun of me now
