Giovan Battista Farina was the youngest of the Farina children and affectionately known in the family as Pinin [the little one]. He worked with his older brother in the Farina factory [Stabilimenti Farina] in 1930 then branched out on his own. That year, the Farina brothers built a first custom body on a Cadillac chassis, a three seater roadster commissioned by the Maharajah of Orccha, built on the sixteen-cylinder chassis of the Cadillac Series 452 . Between 1958 and 1961, the Italian coach-builder was named Pinin Farina - company name was changed to Pininfarina (in one word) in 1961. In 1986 PininFarina designed, built, and painted the body of the Allante released in model year 1987 and went on to make a total of 21,431 cars in seven years before the production at the '93 model year. What follows are some of the Cadillacs designed or built or both, by PininFarina, in Italia. Thumbnail Image
