Has anyone experienced a wobbly harmonic balancer pulley?  I am aware of the exerpt below, but how urgent to repair would something like this be? It almost seems like GM is saying if you happen to remove the balancer then replace it with xxxxx.  Doesn't seem like its a mandatory thing? am i wrong?

"In 1995, GM revised the original crankshaft balancer to provide smoother operation and longer durability. If the balancer is removed from the crankshaft for any reason, GM recommends installing the newer, improved balancer (P/N 12552437 or 12552436, depending on the engine)."

I'm looking at a '95 to purchase with this condition.  The car seems to run fine but I was just wondering about the wobble-its not anything fierce but its definitely a wobble.

Input greatly appreciated, and anything else I might need to know before I buy a 95 Eldorado.

I just replaced mine on an 02 N* because it was wobbling.  The harmic balancer is in 2 parts held together by rubber and the rubber fails causing the wobble.  You can get a 1 piece replacement.  I am not sure if your year takes any readings (such as timing) from the balancer or not.  It is something you need to replace before it comes totally apart and causes a major problem.  Hope this helps.

If it is a noticable wobble - plan on replacing it soon, it will only get worse. 95 Eldos are good cars, as with any car get it checked out before buying.
