Is this for a race car or street car? For ice racer in 1st 2 posts does it use stock floor shifter?

uses the colum shifter. yes it is a race car so to speak, would like to hold first gear and not shift out would be a lot easierand faster, theres some pics in the street strip column . use this to ice race in the winter for some thing to do.

There is metal piece in column that shifter handle interlocks with that could modified to do what want. It will require column to be removed and disassembled to get to it. Then make detent to hold shifter in low. Bungee cords can also do the job.

i want it to stay in first gear in the trans ,not the column, like a shift controller or 12 volt to the shift selonoid, wondering if any body has tried this.

Only way to try to lock it in 1st I know. You can unplug trans and lock it in second gear, default is second only.

Shift lever on trans needs to go and stay in L position for trans to go into low. Floor shifter can modified to keep lever in low, stock or aftermarket. A good tran guy can modify trans internally not upshift.
