Engine will bolt right in, getting it to work maybe another problem. you would be better off to find the correct year engine. You my find after you spending alot of time and money to get it to start it wont run right due to calibration problems.

Years ago I saw a post on some board from a Northstar powertrain engineer that up through 1995 through 1999 engines could all be interchanged, but 2000 would not bolt up and absolutely could not be interchanged with the earlier Northstars. Someone had a 1500 mile engine from a wrecked 2002  STS they wanted to put into a 1993 Allante'. I have no personal experience with this at all. The engineer said that 2000 and up really should be called "Northstar II", as it was a significantly different engine. The closest I have gotten to the newer Northstar is opening the hood on my father-in-law's 2000 Deville to put oil in it once in a while. We did install a 1995 Eldorado Northstar into a 1993 Allante and that did bolt up OK. But the intake plenum is complete different and there was a lot of work required on the injector harness and sensor wiring. In the end, that project worked out fine.
