I got into a little accident last night, i hit a huge curb on a bridge going fast. It bent two rims and i replaced them and drove down the street. When i got out i noticed the back tire that i replaced was sitting at like a 70 degree angle almost. It looked like my tire was falling off so i jacked the car up and noticed that a peice underneath the rear was bent. I dont know what its called its like a metal support arm thats underneath the coil spring that goes to the back passenger tire. Is it easy to replace, im going to try to go to a junk yard tommorow. And im guessing that it would be bad to drive like that so its still jacked up at the moment. I could really use some help becuase its my everyday car. thanks, oh and its the 1989 fleetwood 4.5L FWD 4 door sedan.

Sounds like rear lower control arm.It might be worth while to get knuckle, hub,and tie rod with it. That is the complete assembly and when used part shopping you may not pay that much more for all of it. Also Olds 88/98, Buick Electra/LeSabre and Pontiac Bonneville should also work it finding Deville is difficult.

if i were to take it to someone to replace, how much do you think they will charge for the assembley new? and Is my spindle part of that? And also the spring thats in the back is under a lot of compressed force right, so would that be tricky gettin off and on?

All new parts round 1k depending on labor rate. Spring is under pressure kinda pain because rear of car is light.

so i just got word from my meachanic today. He said the A-frame is bent and the support arm. Hes going to try to heat it up really hot to bend it back into place. Its kind of got me worried. You think this is a good idea?
