I'm interested in buying a Cadillac like my grandfather used to own before he died. When I was sitting in the new Cadillac CTS at the dealership, I thought about his old Cadillac, and went searching online to find pictures of one like his. I asked older relatives to find out what model it was. When I saw pictures of similar Cadillacs, they brought back small sparks of memory, and it was great. I remeber me and my brother used to sit in the back and fall asleep in the huge sofa-like seat, and it felt like we were riding on clouds. Once, we hit a pothole, and I didn't even feel it! I also remember the lights on the hood that told you if your blinkers were on. Sorry, I'm blabbering. Anyway, what I know is it was a '78 Fleetwood Brougham, had cloth seats, was brown, and it had a fake spare tire bulge on the trunk. Also, it said Classic on the grill I think, I don't know if they all said that or what. How much would a similar Cadillac cost, and am I correct on most of the info? Tell me everything you know about these Cadillacs.

The griille and trunk lid are not factory, and maybe hard to find. Fleetwoods could be had with fuel injected 425 and 4wheel disc brakes from 77-79.Both options were dropped in 1980.The 425 efi was a trip to drive....it had.... Hey... how ya doin accelleration, even though it weighted over 2 tons.

Thank you guys! The problem is, I can't find any pictures, or ebay listings on 78's. I know there's no big difference, but I want to find one exactly the same. Or at least very close. So how much would an above average condition  daily-driver cost?

Also,  can anyone find a good picture of a '78? Because I remember a different front fascia than that.

No more than $4,000, the eBay cars are pretty good for a lot less than that.

Thanks guys! Thanks for the pics Katzmans Caddy, and thanks, coocadi, i'll try that.

So my father said I was wrong about the front end, it's the same as the '77 and '79, as evidenced in that pic, and he also said it WAS a D' Elegance with all the options. I'm still confused about the trunk though. He was the 2nd owner, but I doubt the 1st owner got a custom trunk. It looked similar to this:

Price is mostly about mileage, then condition.
It is not called FAKE  spare .. it is called a Continental Kit ...

this is the '78 line up ...

The 1978 Cadillac model lineup includes, in the front, Fleetwood Eldorado Coupe,
Sedan DeVille, and Seville. In the back, the Fleetwood Brougham, Fleetwood Limousine,
and Coupe DeVille.

Here is one of the line-up cars, FOR-SALE,  in our own Classifieds ...

Hi 78fleetwoodbroughham, I also like Cadillac. If you're looking for a replacement, you don't have to worry because Cadillac has a wide selection of aftermarket parts that will fit your car such as Cadillac vent visor.
