I havbe a 2000 DTS, heres the secret, turn the ignition to the on position, but dont start the car, once you do this and the dash lights are on, look to the upper right hand corner on your instrument cluster you will see 3 buttons, hold the first one (info) and the 3rd on (on/Off) buttons down for 3 seconds or so your dash will blink and it will say all codes, hit the on/off button again and it will run through the system, it will pull up an history codes as well as current codes, have a pen ready, if you miss it, just turn the car off and repeat the procedure to get the codes, you also can search codes by PSM, etc. GREAT THING TO KNOW LOL LOL. Just wanted to send sometjhing back to the forum for helping me out in my jams with the car. =============== Moderator edit: Title and FAQ tagging

FYI, for later model Caddy's If you have ONSTAR they will scan for codes while you wait. The initial response is limited but if you request added information they will transfer you to a specialist who will give you current code reference number as well as any retained error codes with their meaning.
