Purchased a 2000 deville dts 123K noticed that the tranny fluid didnt seem full, had it filled up, then it was over filled, fluid was coming out the vent tube, took it to the shop had all fluid drained and filter and gasket installed, no signs of metal or anything in pan, I did notice a little tranny fluid this morning under the car and a little smoke while driving, do you think the smoke was from the excess fluid that drained down, and what would be the reason for the fluid on the ground? and could someone tell me when the car should shift, it shifts smooth but does it shift again when approaching 60MPH, at 60 i'm up tp  like 2900 rpm

royalet...... good to have replaced fluids....then you know its new....it sounds like you still have a little excess, though a good Tech should have cleaned the excess...... keep a watch on it....... as far as shifting at 60......?????? i don't think so, though maybe depends on how you are excelerating.. take it out easy and count your shifts.....let the Forum know

the strangest thing is after i had the fluids changed I checked the level, it was fine, the next morning, cold engine i look i didnt see nothing when I pulled the dipstick, so i started the car, when it heated up i checked the dipstick again, and it was leveled at the hot mark, is this strange or what?
