ORIGINAL: G.A.R.Y. No fuel needed? What's the generator run on? Should also have a 4 cyl. motor in it also. Don't worry, I get the idea. the ones i have "rented" have had a 6-cyl engine for those times you must have one, like entering a crowded harbor, OR going through a shallow reef area, OR riding a storm where is it critical to keep the bow into the waves and avoid de-masting the rig. fuel .. well, if you cook or fish enough, you got byproduct biofuel. generator? this is the new century .. solar cells or small wind turbine my friend to keep the fridge cold for the steaks or to keep the batteries charged .. the beer, drop it into the ocean in a net, cool enough, the potatoes do just fine w/o a fridge, wiskey dont need no fridge .. maybe the wine. fuel? sure, propane for the grill. bio/dino for the engine. electrical power? solar or tidal generators. batteries? GEL Deep Cycle. lights? 100% LED, little, very little power. food? fishing pole; spear, fins and mask; rifle. drinking water? desalinated. shower? go for a swim instead. the girl? hellooooo .. sail boat, water, sun, sails ? do i need to say more? BTW, the ones i have used, in the 45 - 55 ft range, sleep 6 in three separate below deck berths, more if you like top-side under the stars snoozes. they move at a good 15 knots in mild weather and surf, faster with a spinnaker, but pretty hard to sail with less a crew of two - can be done, well focused but what is the point of that. anyway, with all that, the engineer and survivor training in me, comes out .. a still very far away dream. oh .. almost forgot, a little Vespa scooter on board for the landings. Why a Vespa? small to carry on the dingi, since i rather toss an ancher than come into the piers and use "fuel". No .. no .. no way in hell i'm ever "sailing" into a pier ever again ...
