Maybe I missed it, but where is the RIM located?  Also, I have a 98' STS, think a RIM from a 2000 STS will work?
Thanks
This thread has given me hope that I can fix my ghosts!
Great job on this one!!

Is there anyway to find out if a RIM from a 2000 STS would be compatible with a '98 STS?

I just searched on gmpartsdirect under 98 and 00, two different prices, so I guess two different modules/connections?
I'm guessin that's the answer to my question.

I noticed a few months ago, while openning the driver door my gauges do a sweep, all of them..  just a quick sweep.  If I close the door and open again 2-3 times it will do it each time.  If I start the car, shut it off and open and close the door, it doesn't do it.              Just a thought if the RIM could have anything to do with that?

Oh, I was asking about the RIM compatibility between the 98'-00' Seville's, because there is one listed on Ebay.  $15 buy it now plus shipping, the seller says its garanteed against DOA.  Won't do me any good though, after checking gm parts direct.
Just thought I would pass that along incase someone has a 2000-2004 Seville in need of a RIM.

The gas gauge bumps around doing it's own thing.  The temp gauge doesn't move smoothly, it bumps up as the car gets warm instead of slow steady climb to norm operating temp.
The driver seat loses memory.
The presets on the radio go back to default when the key is turned off, the stations and time stay, but everything else goes to default settings.
The vanity mirror lights work when they want.
The pass. side tilt curb view feature finally tilts back to normal position after parked for the night sometime after I am sleeping most times.
Not often, but does happen, when I try to start the car, I get nothing, not a click or anything, couple minutes later it starts like new.
Climate control has turned itself on and off when it wasn't even on, again not common but has happend.
Seat heaters work when they want.

I think that's about everything..
Let me know what you think

there are two main grounds under rear seat. one that comes off the battery, and the other comes from (looks like) behind rear seat,

check them to see if any corrosion..... in any case, disconnect both and clean GOOD, including the holes that they go into with a wire cone-brush. replace them, and then coat them with some type of electric grease, to keep clean, and moisture away....... see if that helps....
