I NOTICED ON SAT 09/08/2007 WHEN I DROVE MY CAR TO THE STORE THERE WAS A WINDING, OR HUMMING SOUND COMMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION, I FIGURED IT WAS BECAUSE THE CAR WAS COLD. I SAY THE TRANSMISSION BECAUSE I CANT HEAR THE NOISE WHEN ITS IN PARK. IT KINDA SOUNDS LIKE A BLOWER ON A CAR. A WHISTLING NOISE. I FIGURED IT WAS TRANSMISSION FLUID BEING LOW THEREFORE I MADE SURE THAT IT WAS TOPPED OFF. FLUID AND EVERYTHING LOOKED NORMAL, BUT STILL I HEAR THE WINDING NOISE WHEN I DRIVE. SHIFTS ALOT BETTER THAN IT DID THIS MORNING BUT STILL HEARING THE NOISE. PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Intense: Check all of your vacuum hoses, if one of them is cracked or loose them that could be the whistle. Could also be your alternator going south. I have the same car, let me know if any of this leads you anywhere.

Hi there: Good to hear that you found your problem. Do you have the 368 c.i. engine in your ride?? If you need any help with issues that may arise, I have the dealer service manuals for electrical and mechanical as I have had to do a lot of search and destroy on gemlins since I purchased my Cad. Take care. diamondguy2@shaw.ca

well i did find the problem but then again i didnt. i went 2 a guy yesterday n he said that it was my transmission pump. i asked him about the TCC sensor and he said that it wasnt it. tomorrow is when the transmission will be dropped and we will def find the problem. yes i do have the 368ci motor also. what i really need is to have physical contact with someone in the DFW area that works on older cadillacs. i have lucked up and took my 80 fleetwood to a dealer and a guy worked on it then but he doesnt work there anymore and dealers dont work on older cadillacs. so im pretty much assed out looking for someone that is a cadillac master. if anyone knows of anybody in the Dallas Ft. Worth area please let me know. thanks for all the input...
