My Hobbi as a dirt car racer (Midget)
I have been racing dirt cars since I was 5 years old in a 1/4 midget and have moved up the ranks throught he years winning many races and a championship along with other awards like rookie of the year. I have just moved into the biggest form of wingless openwheel racing on the east coast being an ARDC Dirt Midget powerd by a 166 CI All alunimum block all motor 375+hp with no flywheel, no clutch, no trans, just a direct drive to a quick change rear end do a tubular live alunimum axle. The car weighs 900lbs with the engine.
Here is a video of my first time running the car.

The engines are a custom built motor designed off a chevy small block head. The block is a Gearte alunimum midget block. They stopped making this brand a few years back the price of a new block was between 10-14k The engines we have now are being built by Kriners race engines located in Chambersburge pa. A brand new motor fully built would run around $38,000 ours was bought used and built up a few times. 161CI 4 cylinder engine with custom crank, rods, pistons. titanium valves, keepers, and locks. Valve springs have 270lbs of seat pressure with over 480lbs of pressure when opened. close to 16 to 1 compression ratio. and push rods thicker then my middle finger. roller rockers and much more. if you look at the side of the motor you think you are looking at the side of a 350sbc but when you walk around the other side of the car and see a flat plate on the side of the cam lifter valley you realize its something different. We run duel fuel injection all mechanical. Nozzles directly in intake ports of head and in intake stacks for each cylinder. 99.98 pure methanol alcohol is the fuel of choice to keep the engine running cool and to allow the high compression without pre detonation. Since that video the engines we have now are dynoed much closer to 400hp with 340ft lbs of torque. we have a rev limiter set around 8,500rpm witch is quite a lot for a pushrod over head valve motor and we project 20 races on an engine before a rebuild if nothing goes wrong.
